Brage

Brage is a crude oil producer located in the northern North Sea, 125 kilometres west of Bergen. The water depth is 137 metres. Brage was discovered in 1980, and the plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in 1990. The production started in 1993.

Utvikling

Brage has been developed as a fixed integrated production, drilling and accommodation facility with a steel jacket.

Reservoar

Brage produces oil from sandstone of the Early Jurassic age in the Statfjord Group, and sandstone of the Middle Jurassic age in the Brent Group and the Fensfjord Formation. The reservoirs lie at a depth of 2,000-2,300 metres.

Utvinning

The main drainage strategy is water injection, with gas lift utilised in most wells.

Transport

Brage oil is exported via the Oseberg Transport System (OTS) to the Sture terminal. The gas is exported via a pipeline to Kårstø.

Status

In November 2022, OKEA took over Wintershall Dea Norge AS’s entire share (35.2%) in Brage as well as the operatorship. Current production is ~ 8,000 boepd3 gross, while production to date is ~ 421 mmboe2 gross.
